Intra-Africa Mobility Scheme
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme was established by the European Commission Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development in cooperation with the African Union Commission. It is part of the EU funded Pan-African Programme which supports the Africa-EU Strategic Partnership.
The Programme has a budget envelope of approximately EUR 10 000 000 granting 350 mobilities ( Masters and Doctorate students and a smaller percentage of academic and administrative staff) between African Higher education Universities.
Objectives of the Programme
- Contribute to the development’s sustainability in African countries by increasing the number of trained and qualified high level man-power thus reducing poverty in Africa.
- Improve Higher Education quality by harmonizing Higher education systems and curricula in African countries.
- Capacity Building through Intra-Africa mobilities.
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme gives an opportunity to students, academic and administrative staff to gain from their mobility experience linguistically, culturally and professionally.
The cooperation between African Higher Education Institutions will enable students to have access to quality education and undertake post-graduate studies in the African continent.
