Organisations interested to join the Erasmus+ Programme can participate in calls and create their own international cooperation projects in the field of education, youth and sport. Such projects are implemented within the following Key Actions (KA), each of which has its own rules and calls:

The benefits for involved organisations include an increased capacity to operate at an international level, improved management methods, access to more funding opportunities and projects, increased ability to prepare, manage, and follow-up projects, as well as a more attractive portfolio of opportunities for learners and staff at participating organisations.

Higher Education
Supports the modernisation, accessibility, and internationalisation of higher education in Partner Countries.
Erasmus+ offers the opportunity for higher education institutions to send students and staff abroad (in other Programme countries or other Partner countries) to study, teach, or train at participating institutions, as well as to participate in a traineeship. They can also host incoming students and staff from abroad.

These projects support the design of high-level study programmes at master level, jointly delivered by an international consortium of HEIs from different countries worldwide.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are high-level integrated study programmes at master level.
These support teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide, covering the study of Europe in its entirety, with particular emphasis on the EU dimension, from an internal but also from a global perspective. The scope of EU studies can be varied as long as the EU angle is explored.
EU studies should promote active European citizenship and values and deal with the role of the EU in a globalised world, enhancing awareness of the Union and facilitating future engagement as well as people-to-people dialogue.

Virtual exchanges projects consist of online people-to-people activities that promote intercultural dialogue and soft skills development. They make it possible for every young person to access high-quality international and cross-cultural education (both formal and non-formal) without physical mobility.

Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Capacity building projects are international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of VET in Programme and third countries not associated to the Programme. They aim to support the relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness of VET institutions and systems in third countries not associated to the Programme as a driver of sustainable socio-economic development.
Youth
Consists of initiatives designed to foster cooperation and exchanges, improve the quality and recognition of youth work and support new non-formal learning mobility schemes in Partner Countries.

Youth Exchanges are meetings of groups of young people from at least two different countries who gather for a short period to implement jointly a non-formal learning programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.) on a topic of their interest, seeking inspiration from the European Youth Goals . The learning period comprises a planning period before the application, preparation phase before as well as evaluation and follow-up after the exchange.
Organisations can take part in opportunities to support the professional development and network of youth workers, including activities such as:

- training courses,
- networking events,
- study visits, and
- job shadowing/observation periods abroad.
