Between 29 and 30 September 2025, the third meeting of the Coordination Group on Global Policy Dialogue (CG GPD) took place in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
Representing Algeria, Professor Korichi Mourad and Professor Hamdi Rachid, both Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts, participated in this high-level dialogue, accompanied by Professor Mohamed Boudour, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) in Algeria. Their contribution reflected Algeria’s growing engagement in international policy discussions on higher education, particularly in the fields of recognition of qualifications and quality assurance.
The meeting focused on advancing the CG GPD Work Programme, addressing thematic priorities and outlining steps towards the upcoming Global Policy Forum 2027. Participants examined key challenges and opportunities in strengthening cooperation and dialogue on a global scale, particularly regarding the alignment of recognition and quality assurance systems across regions.
Following the coordination meeting, a Peer-Learning Activity brought together nearly 100 participants from more than 40 countries. The session explored synergies between regional frameworks for recognition and quality assurance, aiming to enhance mutual understanding and promote convergence of practices at both regional and global levels.
This event was organized within the framework of GLOBAL 2030, a project funded by the European Union, with the organizational support of POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
The participation of Algerian representatives underlines the country’s commitment to strengthening the international dimension of higher education, contributing to global reflections on policy coherence and good practices in quality assurance and recognition.
