The final conference of the DIGITAQ Erasmus+ CBHE project, titled “Creation of Digital Capacities for the Management of Quality Assurance in Algerian Higher Education” took place on October 1-2, 2024, at the New Day Hotel in Algiers. This event marked the successful conclusion of the project, which aimed to modernize and transform quality assurance processes in Algerian universities through digital innovation.
The conference was attended by senior representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS), university leaders, international experts, stakeholders, and the NEO coordinator, Pr. Mohamed Boudour, who emphasized the critical role of the project in reshaping the quality assurance landscape in Algeria.
Discussions throughout the event centered on the project’s digital tools, such as the national database and the networked quality assurance system, which have the potential to revolutionize quality assurance management in higher education. These digital platforms enable institutions to collect and analyze data more efficiently, significantly improving transparency and accountability. Participants also explored the functionality of the integrated dashboard, which offers university managers and decision-makers real-time access to key data, helping guide strategic decisions and optimize institutional performance.
In the concluding sessions, participants focused on ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project’s outcomes. There was a strong consensus on integrating the digital tools into Algeria’s national higher education framework, with an emphasis on maintaining and expanding the system as technology evolves. The importance of continuously upgrading the digital infrastructure was also highlighted, ensuring that Algerian universities remain at the forefront of quality assurance innovations.
