The National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) Algeria participated in the AfriquEurope 2026 International Conference, held on 10–11 June 2026 at Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen. The event was organised within the framework of the Jean Monnet AfriquEurope – Network of Excellence project, funded by the Erasmus+ program, and brought together academics, researchers, policymakers, and institutional representatives from Africa and Europe.
The conference focused on key issues shaping Africa–Europe relations, including demographic transition, youth, migration, sustainable development, and the role of higher education in addressing shared societal challenges. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and scientific presentations, participants exchanged experiences and explored evidence-based approaches to strengthening cooperation between the two continents.
The National Erasmus+ Office Algeria was represented by its Coordinator, Prof. Mohamed Boudour, who participated in the opening session of the conference. In his address, he highlighted the importance of international academic cooperation and the role of the Erasmus+ Programme in promoting partnerships, mobility, capacity building, and knowledge exchange between Algerian higher education institutions and their European counterparts.
On the sidelines of the conference, Prof. Mohamed Boudour met with representatives of Algerian universities, European partners, and project coordinators to discuss opportunities for future collaboration under Erasmus+, Jean Monnet, and other European programmes. These exchanges contributed to strengthening institutional links and identifying new avenues for cooperation in higher education, research, and innovation.
