The National Erasmus + Office coordinator, Pr. Boudour Mohamed, recently took part in the kickoff meeting for the “LEADS” (Linguistic, Entrepreneurial And Digital Skills) Erasmus+ CBHE project at the University of Mostaganem from March 5-7, 2024. This project, funded by the European Union with a budget of 811 943 .00 €, aims to improve language, business, and digital skills over three years, starting December 1, 2023.
The project is coordinated by the University of Mostaganem (Abdelhamid Ben Badis), and involves a diverse group of partners. These include multiple Algerian institutions: the University of Djilali Liabes in Sidi Bel Abbes, the University of 8 Mai 1945 in Guelma, the University of Badji Mokhtar in Annaba, the Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and the University of Lounici Ali in Blida (2). The Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is also a key partner. International collaboration is bolstered by the inclusion of Riga Technical University from Latvia, the University for Foreigners of Siena from Italy, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology from Norway, and Kirikkale University from Turkey.
This initial meeting was pivotal for the planning and distribution of tasks among the partners, with a focus on ensuring smooth contractual and financial management for the project’s duration.
“LEADS” is set to develop a modern certification system, with the establishment of three transnational committees dedicated to creating certification standards recognized by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This initiative stands as a significant effort to prepare students for the global marketplace by equipping them with crucial skills (Project description).
