As part of national efforts to strengthen university entrepreneurship and foster the internationalization of innovation ecosystems, the National Coordination Committee for International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a series of regional Erasmus+ Days for university incubators between April 6 and 10, 2025. The events took place in Sétif, Oran, and Médéa, and were organized in collaboration with the National Erasmus+ Office in Algeria. These regional sessions followed a national webinar held on March 25, 2025, which introduced Erasmus+ opportunities for incubators and explored ways to integrate Algerian universities more effectively into international funding programmes.
The workshops brought together key institutional stakeholders, including Vice-Rectors for International Relations and Directors of University Incubators. The event focused on gathering and refining concrete project ideas. Participants were invited to pitch their concepts for the current Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange call and the upcoming CBHE and CBVET calls. These project ideas were then discussed collectively to identify opportunities for mentorship and to facilitate matchmaking with national and international partners.
By actively engaging decision-makers and innovation leaders from universities, the regional Erasmus+ Days reinforced a collaborative approach to project development and international engagement. The initiative represents a strategic step toward integrating incubators into the broader higher education internationalization agenda and promoting sustainable, innovation-driven partnerships aligned with national priorities.
To ensure the continuity and success of this initiative, the workshops will be followed by targeted training and monitoring sessions dedicated to supporting the development and implementation of selected project proposals. These upcoming sessions will provide ongoing guidance to help project teams strengthen their applications and enhance the quality and impact of their participation in Erasmus+ programmes.
